ACCIDENTS
* KILLED BY PREMATURE EXPLOSION (P.A.) WHANGAREI, April 29. While blasting a log at his home at Kamo this morning, George Clothworthy, aged 84, a pioneer settler, was killed outright by a premature explosion. MOTOR-CYCLIST KILLED (P.A.) WELLINGTON. April 29. Fatal injuries were received by H. Palmer, a panel beater, of Seatoun, when the motor-cycle he was riding collided with a motor lorry in Herd street this afternoon. Palmer suffered a fractured skull, a fractured right arm, and severe concussion. He died shortly after he was admitted to hospital.
