VICEREGAL (P.A.) AUCKLAND, April 29. This morning the Governor-General (Sir Cyril Newall) received Major R. F. Hughes, Metropolitan Commissioner of the Boy Scouts’ Association, The American Minister to New Zealand (Brigadier-General Patrick Hurley) has left Government House. Mr C. Branigan, late inspector of stock for the Ashburton County, is an inmate of the Greymouth Hospital, and is to undergo a serious operation this week.
