ACCIDENTS
♦ MAN DIES AFTER FALL AT ' SHAG POINT (O.R.i OAMARU, March 17. Following an injury received when he fell from a railway jigger between Kartigi and Shag Point this morning, John Andrew Turnbull Wilson, of Shag Point, a married man, aged 28. died this afternoon in the Oamaru Public Hospital. It is reported that Wilson was holding an advertising hoarding, which was carried from his grasp by a gust of wind. At the same time, Wilson lost his balance on the jigger and fell heavily to the track. His head is believed to have struck the rail. MOTOR-CYCLIST INJURED Walter Neill Cranfield, aged 26 years, of Burnham was admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital at 9.40 a.m. yesterday suffering from a broken log. He was riding a motorcycle and struck the back of a motortruck. His condition last night was given as satisfactory. FALL FROM WINDOW Falling from a window at Kaiapoi last evening, Frederick John Quinlivan, aged 26, of Hawarden, and now of the Rangiora Training Depot, injured his spine. He was brought into the Public Hospital by the St. John ambulance at 9.20 p.m. His condition last night was reported to be satisfactory.
