HAND CAUGHT IN CAR

CHILD BADLY BURNED

Primary and secondary burns on the lower part of her body were suffered by Beverley Hoyle, aged three and a half years, of Halswell, when her dress caught alight while she was standing in front of an electric heater. She was admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital and her condition last night was satisfactory. While putting out the blazing dress, her mother received burns on her hands, but after treatment at; the hospital, she was able to go home.

Leslie John Knowles, a storeman, aged 49 years, of 51 Ford road, Opawa. was admitted to the Public Hospital yesterday after having a hand jammed in part of a motor-car. His condition is satisfactory.
