N.Z. AERODROME UNIT

MEN EVACUATED FROM SINGAPORE AUSTRALIAN OFFICIAL LIST (P.A.) WELLINGTON, March 6. A further statement concerning the welfare cf the officers and airmen of the New Zealand aerodrome construction unit, which was serving in Malaya, was made by the Minister for Defence (the Hon. F. Jones) to-night. He said that official advice giving names of personnel in this unit vho had been evacuated from Singapore to Australia had now been received at Air Headquarters. Wellington, and urgent telegrams had been sent to the next-of-kin. Inquiries were being made as to the welfare of other New Zealanders who were at Singapore, and a statement would be made immediately further information was received. In the meantime correspondence should be addressed care of Air Headquarters, Wellington. In the following list of officers and airmen of the aerodrome construction I unit who have been successfully evacuated to Australia, the place name given is that of the next-of-kin.
