GOODS FROM NEUTRAL COUNTRIES
REDUCTION IN ENEMY CONTENT
fP.AJ WELLINGTON, March 5. The Minister for Health (the Hon. A. H. Nordmcyer) stated To-day on behalf of the "Minister for Customs that the effect of the amendment lo the Import Certificates Emergency Regulations, 1030, which was gazetted yesterday, is; (1) that certificates of origin and interest will be requited in respect of goods exported to New Zealand from Liberia on and after April 1, 1042; 12) Thai (he percentage of enemv content allowed in goods covered by certificates of origin and interest will be reduced from 25 per cent, to 5 per cent, in respect of goods exported to New Zealand from any neutral country in Europe or front Liberia or Turkey on and after April 1, 1042. The Minister stated that the reduction in the permitted percentage of enemy content in goods exported from the countries in question had been necessary in order that stricter control might be exercised in respect of exports from industries in neutral countries with large enemy interests.
