ATTACK BY 30 AIRCRAFT

(U.P.A.) LONDON, March 5. Japanese Imperial Headquarters in Tokvo announces that Allied aeroplanes raided Marcus Island, midway between the Marshall Islands and the Japanese mainland. The announcement says that about 30 aeroplanes appeared over the south

part of the island at dawn yesterday. It admits that damage was done, and claims that some'of the attackers were shot down. Marcus Island lies about 1100 miles to the south-east of Japan.

BOMBS DROPPED ON HONOLULU

FIRST SINCE ATTACK IN DECEMBER

HONOLULU. March 4. The United Stales Army announces that three medium-sized bombs were dropped on Honolulu at 2.15 a.m. local time, “believed to be from an enemy aeroplane.” There were no casualties. This is the first bombing of Honolulu since the big Japanese attack on Hawaii on December 7.
