♦ WEST COAST TOURNAMENT OPENING DAY’S PLAY IN FOURS COMPETITION (F 0.0.R I GREYMOUTH, Feb. 9. Canterbury clubs with a representation of 16 fours out of the 31 competing, are taking part in the annual West Coas, bowls tournament which opened at the Greymouth and Karoro greens to-day and will continue throughout the week. The weather wa? brilliantly fine and the greens in first-class order. Keen competitoin marked the opening rounds of the fours championship series. CHRISTCHURCH CENTRE’S MEETING The match committee reported to a meeting of the Christchurch Bowling CenIre last evening that the pennant comedition had produced a very close finish. Hornby won with 115 points. Beckenham and Sunnyside 110 points.
