Melba Bequest.—The district elimination contest of the Melba Bequest Scholarship will be held in Christchurch in May during the annual festival of the Christchurch Competitions Society. The winner will be awarded a free trip to Wellington to enable her to compete with other district finalists in the Now Zealand elimination contest. The prize is £45, for boat fare and expenses to Melbourne. to compete in the final contest early in 1943. The scholarship, open to women born in New Zealand «r Auetralia and not less than 17 years age, entitles the holder to the special diploma course at the Melbourne Contervatorium of Music, to the value of £loft
