j ♦ SIR CYRIL FULLER (Received February 3, 9.40 p.m.) (UFA.) LONDON, February 2. ! I ' The death has occurred of Admiral 1 Sir Cyril Fuller. ‘ Admiral Fuller retired in 1935. He ; served with the Togoland and Cam-, croons Expeditionary Forces from -914 ; Ito l ot 6 as Senior Naval Officer. In [ the san,-. period he commanded H.M.s. Cumberland. Challenger, and Astraca. and H M.S. Repulse from 1916 to 1917. After serving for the next three years as Director of the Flans Division of the Naval War Staff, during which he headed the British Naval Section a, the Peace Conference in Paris, he became Chief of Staff. Atlantic Fleet, until 1922. After a year’s service as Assistant-Chief of Naval Staff he became Third Sea Lord. He .eft this post in 1925 to take command of the Battle Cruiser Squadron, z-lantic Fleet, and in 1928 he took command I of the America and West Indies StaI tion, returning to the Admiralty m 1930 as Second Sea Lord. VERY REV. DEAN HOLLEY (P.A.) WELLINGTON. Feb. 3 j The death has occurred in Wellmg--1 ton of the Very Rev. Dean J. R. Holley. parish priest of Blenheim lor I more than 20 years. j He attained the fiftieth anniversary of his profession in the Society ol 1 Mary in August, 1940. i Dean Holley was well known m Christchurch and throughout the j South Island. ! MR ALLAN MCNAUGHTON The death has occurred in Dunedin of Mr Allan McNaughtqn, for 36 years a member of the Kaituna Bowling Club, and for 15 years its secretary. He was made a life member of the club in recognition of his services. ; For the greater part of his life Mr McNaughton was a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Dunedin, and for many years he served as clerk of the deacons’ court. He is survived by his widow, a son—the Rev. Allan T McNaughton, M.A., formerly on the teaching staff of the Otago Boys’ High School, and now director of youta work in the Australian Presbyterian Church—and a daughter, Miss Winifred McNaughton, a member of the teaching staff of the Southland Girls High School. MR E. FITZSIMMONS Mr E. Fitzsimmons, who died in Wanganui recently, was for a number of years one of Wellington’s best known cricketers. A telegraphist in the Post and Telegraph Department, he was a regular member of the Midland Club’s first eleven and the Wellington representative team in the early nineties. He represented Wellington on 15 occasions, including five times against Canterbury and against New South Wales in 1894 and 189 a. MR G. A. FINDLAY Mr G. A. Findlay, whose death has occurred in Dunedin, was the founder of the business of G. A. Findlay and Company, Ltd., wholesale warehousemen and manufacturers, of Dunedin, and he was governing director at the time of his death. ■
