WOMEN’S CLOTHING STOLEN

THREE HOUSES ENTERED

Women’s clothing and jewellery were stolen from three houses at Riccarton and Fendalton, entered during the absence of the occupiers on holidays, The police are investigating. Entry was gained to the house of Mrs T. Milliken, Bradnor road, Fendalton, by the front door, in the glass panels of which holes were broken. Women’s clothing and jewellery were taken, and other clothing was damaged. Three frocks and jewellery, of a total estimated value of £25, were taken from the home of Mr Sydney Milne, 95 Puriri street. Not a great deal was taken from the home of Mr H B. Duckworth in Straven road. PREMISES ENTERED

BOYS CAUSE MISCHIEF

Squeezing through the bars of a window in Messrs Rattray and Company’s premises in Lichfield street, during the week-end, boys gained entry and caused considerable damage. They mixed sugar with pickles, and threw sauces about the floor, but. as far as is known, no goods were taken away.
