SHORTAGE OF VEGETABLES
Sir,—l suggest there is a solution of our vegetable requirements which has been found successful in other countries where'used. 1. Determine the annual requirements of various classes of vegetables. 2. Call for tenders for these. 3. Where insufficient, tenders can be supplemented by using unemployed labour under control of central authority, presumably the City Council.—Yours, etc.. JOHN S. BURBRIDGE. January 14, 1942.
