APPEAL FOR REVIEW OF DECISION (P.A.) WESTPORT. January 15. Miners living in Westport and travelling daily by motor-bus to Denniston have been advised that the petrol allowance cannot be continued and that they must, in future, travel by train. The miners hold that this is impossible, as work at the mine begins at 7.30 a.m. and. by train, they would not reach Waimangaroa, at the _ foot of Denniston hill, until about 8 o'clock. Thev have made an appeal through the Hon. P. C. Webb to the Oil Fuel Controller at Christchurch for a review of the decision.
