RAILWAY CUT NEAR CANTON

The latest Chinese communique says that the last remnants of the Japanese forces which attacked Cnangsha have been rounded up and the Chinese are now only 15 mi es from Yochow (Yoyang), the main Japanese base in the north of the Hunan : Province, near the border with Hupeh. The southern bank of the Milo river, north of Cnangsha, is now clear of the enemy. The Chinese also report the capture of a town in Hupeh and of a town in south China, north of Canton. They have also had successes along the Canton - Kowloon railway, 10 sections of which have been destroyed.
