OFFICIAL FORECASTS (P.S.S.) WELLINGTON, Jan. 14. The weather forecast for Canterbury Issued at 5 p.m. by the Meteorological Office. Wellington, and dealing with the 24 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: — Fresh to strong south-westerly winds, probably turning; to northwesterly or northerly again. Weather cool, changeable, and rhowery at first, but conditions improving from the south. Further outlook, becoming fair on the plains. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Moderate to strong northerly to westerly winds. Weather unsettled, with further rain or drizzle. Temperatures moderate. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch yesterday was overcast in the morning, with a brief thunderstorm. Sn the afternoon the iky cleared, and there Was a strong north-west wind.
