POST FOR SIR GUY WILLIAMS
APPOINTMENT WITH 8.8.C. (Received January 13, 7 p.m.) LONDON, January 12. Lieutenant-General Sir Guy Williams has been appointed overseas establishment officer for the British Broadcasting Corporation. His duties will be to recruit staffs for overseas broadcasts. Last May Sir Guy Williams was lent to the New Zealand Government to ad-
vise on problems relating to the organisation and training of the New Zea-. land military forces [Lieutenant-General Sir Guy Williams, K.C.8., C.8.. C.M.G., D.5.0., was formerly General Officer Commanding-in-Chief. the Eastern Command. He entered the Army in 1900 and served throughout the Great War, being mentioned in dispatches seven times. After the war he served in India, and from 1923 to 1927 was Deputy-Military Secretary to the War Office. He was Chief Engineer. Aldershot Command, from 1932 to 1934, Commandant of the Staff College, Quetta, from 1934 to 1937, and Commander of the sth Division from 1937 to 1938,]
