OFFICIAL FORECASTS (P.S.S.) WELLINGTON. January 13. The weather forecast for Canterbury issued at 5 p.m. by the Meteorological Office. Wellington, and dealing with the 24 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: North-westerly winds soon predominating, and becoming strong. Intermittent rain in the Alps. Fair and mild on the plains. Further outlook, north-westerly weather continuing. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is;— Moderate to fresh northerly to westerly winds. Weather dull, with intermittent rain. Temperatures mild. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The day in Christchurch yesterday was fine with n north-east wind, in the morning the sky was overcast, but it later cleared.
