HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY MEETING

Because of the late season and the war situation, the committee of management of the Canterbury Horticultural Society decided last evening that the gladiolus show, to have bien held on January 29 and 30, would not be held this year, and that the gladiolus classes, which would have been on the schedule for that show, would be transferred to the dahlia show, to be held on February 26 and 27. An award of merit to the Davis Gelatine Company for a factory garden was approved. A lily was submitted to the lily committee fpr an award of merit by Mr George Weekes, and the award was granted. The lily i? 9 crpsj regale and Igngiflorum, and is pure white. _____________
