♦ KNOCKED DOWN BY TRAM-CAR (P.A.) WELLINGTON, January 11. An old-age pensioner, Thomas James Thompson, single, aged 76, living at Ngahauranga, was knocked down by a tram-car in Kilbirnie last night, receiving head injuries, from which he died in hospital,
