AGRICULTURAL CLUBS AT ELLESMERE

♦ The judging of vegetable gardens entered in the competitions of the Ellesmere Agricultural Clubs has been completed by Mr D. F. H. White, who has made the following awards:— Senior section: Peter Hislop (Brookside School), 89 points,. 1; Joy Hill (Dunsandel), 86J points', 2; Mervyn Welsh (Leeston), 83 points, 3; bestkept record of work, Peter Hislop; greatest amount of effort in garden, Jan Tweedie. Junior section: Noeline Murison (Dunsandel) and lan Keele (Brookside), 71 points (equal) 1, lan Quigley , (Leeston), 68 points, 2; Mervyn Rathgen (Killinchy) and Ronald Hudson (Leeston), 67 points (equal) 3. Many merit awards were made in both sections. A notable feature was that of the 43 entrants only one failed to complete the project.
