♦ The annual box-opening of the Hornby branch of Dr. Barnardo’s Young Helpers’ League was held at the home of Mrs Morgan Evans, president of the Hornby-Islington branch. Gifts were presented to the girl and boy having the largest amount in their boxes, and these prizes were won by Margaret Cooper and Harry Davis. The collection from boxes and gifts was £l3.
