with hard labour in the Magistrate’s Court to-day. The accused had been employed occasionally in sorting paper which was sold for patriotic purposes. The Magistrate (Mr H. W. Bundle) commented adversely on the fact that four different taxi-drivers drove a drunken man with large quantities of paper from the home to the fish shop without making any inquiries. No order was made for restitution of £2 19s. the Magistrate remarking that the Chinese had no right to purchase the paper: in these, circling, .stances. ''
