—♦ — EL ADEM RETAKEN LONDON, December 10. El Adeni, 15 miles south of Tobruk, has been recaptured by Imperial forces. GERMAN WITHDRAWAL REPORTED STOCKHOLM, December 10. The main body of the German armies in Russia is now retiring to the line held on October 15. This momentous decision was made, says the “Daily Mail’s” correspondent, after Hitler and Marshal von Brauchitsch, Com-mander-in-Chief of the German Army, visited Marshal von Eundstedt in the Ukraine, General von Bock, on the Moscow front, and Marshal von Leeb, on the Leningrad front. Minister, Dietrich, the Press Chief, Todl, Hie Minister for Transport, and Rosenberg, Governor of Nazioeeupied Russia, accompanied Coe Fuehrer. The military leade;r insisted that the army and 11 1 e Luftwaffe could not-mainlain p>,- offensive throughout the winter SL'O miles from their buses. This solid front of specialised opinion over-ruled Hiller, von Ribbentrop, and Rosenberg, who argued that maintenance of the offensive was essential for internal and external prestige. The corre- ’ spondent adds that the points to which the Germans are withdrawing are Rzhev, Vyazma, Orel, Kursk, Kharkov, and Melitopol.
