ACCIDENTS
AIRMAN * INJURED CRASH AT EYREWELL (P.A.) WELLINGTON. December 9. When an aircraft of the Royal New Zealand Air Force crashed at the Eyrewell plantation, north-west of Christchurch, yesterday afternoon, an airman pilot under training, Leading Aircraftsman John Nevill Callan. suffered cuts and abrasions. He was admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital lor an X-ray examination. The accident occurred during solo training. The pilot’s next-of-kin is Jjis father, Captain F. J. Callan, Bluff. WOMAN CYCLIST INJURED Rena Heslop, aged 28 years, of 54 Tennyson street. Christchurch, fractured an elbow in a collision between bicycles yesterday afternoon. She was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital at 8.35 p.m.
FATAL FALL (P.A.) AUCKLAND, December 9. A former employee of the Public Works Department was killed when he fell down a flight of stairs in a city hotel about midday. The victim was John Tansey, aged about 45, whose address has not been established. It is presumed that Tansey. who was found dead on a landing halfway up the stairs, struck his head in falling. His relatives live in Christchurch.
