NEARLY 900 AIRCRAFT SHOT DOWN
FIGHTER COMMAND’S TOTAL OVER FRANCE (Received November 23, 11 p.m.) LONDON, November 23. Pilots of the Fighter Command of the Royal Air Force shot down six enemy aircraft over Northern France yesterday, bringing their total to nearly 900. British and Canadian pilots took part in the sweep which was led by a wing commander with 18 victories to his credit. An official communique states that enemy aircraft dropped a few bombs in the south-west of England and South Wales early on Friday night. Little damage was done, but at one place a small number of casualties have been reported.
