The following Army appointments and , promotions are included in a big list < , published in the latest Gazette:— ‘ In the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force, Major C. L. Walter, N.Z. Artillery, is promoted LieutenantColonel. Captain F. W. Huggins, E.D., is promoted Major, 26th (Canterbury-Otago) Battalion, vice Major S. J. Kelly, E:D., seconded. Major (temporary LieutenantColonel) J. B. Mawson, M.C., V.D., New Zealand Scottish Regiment, ceases to be seconded to the Expeditionary Force, relinquishes the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel, and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class Captain A. P. McCormack, New Zea- , land Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of No. 9 Area Officer, Nelson, and is appointed Supervising Quartermaster, Southern Military Dis- - trict, retaining the temporary rank of Major. Captain E. W. D. Unwin,, who has l.en attached to the Canterbury Yeomanry Cavalry, is appointed temper- ■ ary Quartermaster at the Armoured Vehicles Fighting School, Waiouru. Lieutenant H, C. Knubley, M.C., retired list, is appointed a temporary lieutenant in the Canterbury Yeomanry Cavalry. . ~ Lieutenant H. E. Otley is appointed to the New Zealand Engineers, Forestry ; Reinforcements, 2nd N.Z.E.F. Lieutenant C. W. Whetter is appointed to the N.Z.
