N.Z. INDUSTRIES FAIR
I Sir,— Having a visitor from Auckk land, I took him along to the New Zea--3 land Industries Fair. But what a disfj appointment. I could only count 24 ® firms represented at this exhibition. Who is responsible? The advertisePp ments are big enough, but do not give I this information, though they give a plenty about variety show attractions, I Punch and Judy, dancing, harmonica * band, baby show, salvage hunting, etc. if My friend, however, made no unit complimentary remarks; but we did I hot remain long. Perhaps an Auck- | land exhibition of what Auckland | manufacturers can do would eclipse I this effort? Our Agricultural and PasSi toral Association formerly did much | better. Why not leave it to this as- | sociation?—Yours, etc., | DISGUSTED. I October 11, 1941. , I [The secretary-manager of the New | Zealand Industries Fair (Mr R. T. Alii ston) said that, through the heavy war I production programme being carried | out by local factories, circumstances | were such .that it was most difficult to H have a comprehensive display this B| jxear. “This was also one of the rea- ■ he i said, “why the Auckland ■Kiwiater show was not held this year.”]
