London’s Next Lord Mayor,—Lieu-tenant-Colonel Sir John Laurie was nominated at the Guildhall yesterday to be the next Lord Mayor of London. Sir John Laurie, who is in his seventieth year, served in the 1914-18 war and received the Croix de Guerre with Palm. He has been a leading London businessman and administrator for a number of years,—London, September 29.
