* RANGIOUA Good entries of cattle and pigs were forward at the Ranglora stock market yesterday. Values ranged as follows; Sheep.—Ewes and lambs, all counted, 10s to 19s 9d; ewes in lamb. 225. Cattle.—Springers. £6 to £ll ss; /tore cows, £4 to £5: yearlings £3 to £4. pigs.—Porkers. 40s to 465; slips, 20s to 295; weaners, 18s to 225. TEMUKA (PSS.) TIMARU, September 9. The medium-sized entry of fat cattle at the Temuka sale contained a few pens of good quality beasts. Competition was keen and late rates were well maintained. Extra prime steers made *£lß 12s 6d to £l9 17s 6d, prime £l4 12s 6d to £l7 12s 6d, light to medium £lO to £l3 2s 6d. light to medium heifers £9 2s 6d to £ll 12s 6d. prime cows £ll 7s 6d to £l3 17s 6d, light to medium £6 2s 6d to £9 12s 6d. The vardlrg of fat sheen, which was larger than usual, comprised mostly good quality sheep. Values for wethers were equal to late rtacs, but there was an easing of Is fid for ewes. Extra prime wethers made to 44s 4d. prime 35s 4d to 38s Id. medium 30s Id to 32s 10d. extra prime ewes to 32s 7d. prime 27s lOd to 30s 4d. light to medium 20s to 25s 7d. The few oens of store sheen sold at late rates. Sound-mouth crossbred ewes in lamb made 23s 3d. full-mouth IPs lOd. two and four-tooth halfbred 21s 4d. mixed-sex hoggets 20s Bd, twotooth wethers 17s 6d. TINWALD There was a small yarding of fat sheep at the Tinwald stock sale yesterday, whenprices, were on a par with those ruling at recent sales. The small entry and a poor attendance were attributed to the lambing season. v , . The top price of the sale was 36s 7d paid for a pen of four wethers, while other sheep in this section made from I9s. Prices for ewes ranged from 17s Id to 28s lOd, while hoggets brought between 21s Id and 27s 6d. LOKNEVILLE (P.A.) INVERCARGILL, September 9. Quite a lot of good quality sheep were included in the fat sheep yarding at the Lorncvllie stock sale to-day. The sale was a sound one throughout, and there was a general average Increase of 2s a head. Prime quality wethers brought from 34s fid to 36s 6d, good quality 32s 6d to 345, medium 30s to 31s, lighter 27s to 28s 6d, good quality maiden ewes to 25s 9d, prime heavy 23s to 245, good quality 21s to 225, medium 19s 6d to 20s 6d, unfinished 17s to 18s 6d. ■ The majority of the fat cattle yarding comprised quite good quality cattle, with bullocks, heifers, and steers all well represented. The sale opened with a brighter tone than was the case last week, and from about the middle to the closing stages there was a rise of £l, and in some cases £1 10s a head on last week's values. Prime heavy bullocks realised up to £lB 12s 6d, prime quality £l6 to £l7, me-dium-weights £l4 to £ls ss. light-weights £l2 5s to £l3 10s. small £9 to £lO 10s, prime heavy cows up to £l4 2s 6d, prime quality £ll 5s to £l2 10s. medium £9 10s to £lO 10s, unfinished £7 10s to £8 10s, prime quality heifers to £l4 ss. prime handy-weights £l2 10s to £l3 ss, lightweights £ll to £ll 15s, small £8 10s to £9 10s.
