TRUCKS DERAILED NEAR BANKSIDE
+ A broken axle on a waggan of coal derailed seven trucks on a DunedinChristchurch goods train as it was travelling south of Bankside, near Rakaia, on Saturday morning. A truck carrying horses was overturned; but none of the horses was injured. A gang of men working with a break-down crane under the supervision of the district railways engineer (Mr P. H. Morey) had the line clear by about 2 p.m. Passengers on the midday south express were transferred to a special train from Ashburton, which took them asfar^aa'Thnaru*
