MR C. E. POPE LEADS ON PROVISIONAL COUNT
On a provisional count, Mr. ;C. E,_ Pope leads by one vote in the Heathcote County Council by-election for the Hillsborough riding, made necessary by the death of Mr J. F.,Scott ; : After.the polling yesterday, the -pro-/ visional count placed the candidatesas follows:—E. R. Adcock 74, -Dr. H.-. C. Holland 121, C. E. Pope 122; ; was one informal vote. The final count will be made tq-day.
