MR PICOT’S SALARY

PAYMENT FOR WORK IN INDIA

CP.R.) WELLINGTON, August 22. . The salary of £2OOO a year paid to the Director of Internal Marketing (Mr F. R. Picot) was referred to by Mr W. J. Poison (Opposition, Stratford) during the discussion on the Estimates in the House of Representatives to-day. Mr Poison asked whether Mr Picot was still in receipt of a salary of £2OOO from the department, though he was in India as a member of the Far Eastern Supply Council at Delhi. The Acting-Prime Minister (the Hon. W. Nash) said that Mr Picot was not still drawing his salary of £2OOO as Director of the Internal Marketing Department, but'was being paid only for his work in India.
