N.Z. TORPEDO BOMBER SQUADRON

FORMATION ANNOUNCED

(P.R.) WELLINGTON, August 20. The establishment under the Empire training scheme of a New Zealand torpedo bomber squadron, additional to the New Zealand bomber and fighting squadrons operating in Britain, was announced to-day by the Minister for Defence (the' Hon. F. Jones). The new unit was formed on August 12, and will be equipped with a modern type of aircraft, which has been already proved in numerous actions. “To date 118 officers and airmen from this country have Won awards for courage, outstanding service, and devotion to duty, and this record is by no means the end of the story,” said Mr Jones. “We all wish the new torpedo bomber squadron good hunting and good luck.”
