Mr Melville Marshall! who has been lent by the Federal Government of Australia to the Malay States Government for two years to act as Deputy Collector-General of Taxes, has arrived at Singapore. Mr Marshall, who will live at Kuala Lumpur, is a brother of Mrs T, C. Foster," Ladbrooks.
Mr K. McPherson (Wheat and Flour Controller) left for i Wellington last night by the steamer-express. . The death of Mr J. F, Scott, a former member of the Christchurch Domains Board, was mentioned by the chairman (Mr H. Kitson) at the board’s meeting yesterday. Mr Kitson said it was to be regretted that Mr Scott’s wish that a fernery should be made in the Botanic Gardens had not been fulfilled. Some day, when funds were available, the board might wish to establish a fernery in memory of., Mr Sco,tt.
