GERALDINE COUNTY RATES
NO INCREASE TO BE MADE There will be no increase in rates in the Geraldine County this year, but the Cbunty Council will have less to spend because it will carry £IOOO additional hospital levy and already has to lace a bill for £IOOO for flood damage repairs. Rates struck at ’a meeting of the council yesterday were; General rate, 1 7-32 d in the £, and a special bridge rate of l-32d in the £. . ; A debit balance of £2709 5s 6d, compared with a debit of £5353 at the corresponding date last year, was reported -by the chairman of the finance committee (Cr. J. Acland).
