RESTRICTED USE OF ZINC
“URGENT NECESSITY” MANUFACTURERS CO-OPERATING “There is urgent necessity for restricting the use of zinc to the utmost and confining it to only the most essential lines.” This announcement is made by Mr G. A. Pascoe, factory controller, Wellington, in a letter received by the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association’s office. Mr Pascoe’s letter adds that he recently had discussions with manufacturers, and had been gratified at their recognition of the position and of difficulties which would be imposed on a number ,of producers. Various trades groups are invited to make suggestions.
According to his letter, Auckland brassfounders and zinc-users have expressed their preparedness to co-op-erate.
A combined meeting of the metal trades group of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association and the Ironmasters’ Association of the Canterbury Employers’ Association decided on Monday that they would co-operate fully, also, in the restricted use of zinc.
