FISHERMAN FINED £2O

* FAILURE TO REGISTER IN NATIONAL RESERVE (F.0.0.R.) TIMARU, June 12. A fine of £2O was imposed by. Mr H. Morgan, S.M., on Allan George Marshall, a fisherman, of Timaru, who was charged in the Magistrate’s Court to-day with failing to enrol under the National Service Emergency Regulations. Marshall pleaded guilty to the charge. He had nothing to say when invited by the Magistrate to make some explanation. George Nicholson (Mr M. A. Raymond) pleaded guilty to employing for more than seven days a man who had failed to comply with the National Service Emergency Regulations. Mr Raymond said that the previous defendant, Marshall, had been in the employ of Nicholson, who was unaware of his obligations. His client had explained that his liability “had never occurred to him.” The Magistrate imposed a fine of £3.
