APPEAL UPHELD TROTTING CLUB REVERSES DECISION After the running of the[New Zealand Futurity Stakes at the Ashburton Trotting Club’s meeting on April 5 a complaint was laid against C. King, driver of Surprise Potts, for interference with Special Force. The judicial committee, after heaving evidence, reduced the licence held by King to D grade for three months. King then appealed against the decision, and at a meeting of the board of the New Zealand Trotting Association, at whiclj King was represented by Mr D, W. Russell* it was decided to refer the case, with additional evidence* back to the Ashburton Club. The New Zealand Trotting Association has received the following reply from the secretary of the Ashburton Trotting Club:— . . .. “My judicial committee is of tne opinion that the new offered by J. B. Pringle materially alters the case, and it is to be regretted that King did not call Pringle before the committee in the first instance, when asked whether he wanted to call any further evidence. After reading Pringle’s evidence and also having heard him, the judicial committee has decided that the charge against King cannot be upheld." . King has been reinstated as an A grade driver.
