POLICE SERGEANT INJURED

* ' (P.A.) WHANGAREI, April 30. Senior-Sergeant Henderson, of the Whangarei police force, was badly injured when he was knocked down by a car last night. His lower left leg was broken in two places. Henderson suffered a severe scalp wound and possibly a fracture of the skull. His condition is reported to be serious.

Wild; delegates to provincial conference, Messrs W. H. Overton and K. Plimmer. A credit balance of £3 17s 3d was reported- at the annual meeting of the Femside branch of "the New Zealand Farmers’ Union. Mr A. M. Carpenter presided. The election of officers resulted: President, Mr G. J. McGloin; committee, Messrs G. King, H. G. Guy, W. J. McMillan, F. Evans, J. Evans, R. T. Whitham, W. Smith, L. El Finchani, and W. Evans; secretary, Mr G. R. Sutherland; auditor, Mr J. A. Hodges;' delegate to provincial conference, Sir Carpenter; provincial executive member, Mr G. J. McGloin.
