(RA.) WELLINGTON, April 30. Net customs revenue collected at the port of Wellington last month shows a substantial decrease compared with April, 1640. Sales tax and tyre tax re* ceipts also decreased, but revenue, from motor spirit and beer excise has increased. For the four months of 1941 decreases are shown under all heads except beer duty. War tax is higher for the month, and the period. Net customs revenue collected at Wellington last month amounted to £248,536, compared With £282.088 in April, 1940, a decrease of £33,552. The total for the four months amounts to £923,670, compared with £1,045,772. War tax under its four separate heads totalled £123,916 last month, against £33,658. For the four months totals are £479,249 and £118,986 respectively. Collections of sales tax in April amounted to £93,981, against £101,954. For the four months - the totals are £359,206 end £376,435 respectively. Beer excise collections last month totalled £13,466, compared with £9987. For the four months the totals are £38,731 and £37,603. Duty collected on motor spirit last month amounted to £40,713 at 6d a gallon, compared with £36,468. For the four months the figures are £147,639 and £ 172,891. Tyre tax last month totalled £1613, compared with £1767. For the four months the totals are £3766 and £6361 respectively. DUNEDIN (P.A.) DUNEDIN, April SO. Customs revenue from all sources collected at Dunedin during April showed a reduction Of more than £6OOO compared with the returns for the same month last year, the respective figures being £153,347 and £181,598.
