Weather, I fair to fine with mild to war: . temperatures. Seas slight. ; WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— i Moderate to fresh winds from between the south-west and northwest; scattered showers, especially in the south, but mainly fair to cloudy. Temperatures moderate., Sea moderate, DOMINION The following is the forecast for the Dominion: — The weather for the most part fair to fine. Isolated showers, however in the western districts, especially of the South Island, and in the far south. Temperatures, mild to warm east of the ranges, otherwise moderate. Winds—Winds from the westerly quarter prevailing, strong at times about Wellington Province and Cook Strait, and in the far south; otherwise moderate or fresh. Seas (New Zealand waters) —Rough about Cook and Foveaux Straits; moderate to rather rough on the West Coast; slight or moderate on the East Coast. Eastern Tasman Sea—Moderate south-westerly winds and moderate seas in the northern portion. Strong westerly to north-westerly winds, and rough seas in the southern portion. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in the city yesterday was brilliantly fine, after a cold morning. The sun shone all day, the maximum temperature being 56 degrees. At 1 a.m. this morning the sky was clear and there was no wind. The temperature was comparatively high. The barometer stood at 30.001n (1015.9 millibars) and was then steady. The wind, in the north-west, blew at a steady breeze all day. Dunedin—The sky was overcast on Thursday and the temperatures were cool to mild, the maximum being 88 degrees. Yesterday the sun shone brightly, and temperature# were pleasantly warm, the maximum being 69 degrees.
