BOYS’ HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS KEEN INTEREST SHOWN Keen interest among the competitors, and large fields, were seen at the annual athletic sports of the Christchurch Boys’ High School, which were held at the school last Thursday. Although the weather was chilly there was a good attendance of visitors. The contest for the senior championship proved particularly Interesting, as the winner, C. J. Berryman, established a lead of only one point over the runner-up, W. R. Wilkinson, near the finish of the day. The intermediate championship was gained by M. D. Dawson with 18 points, and the-junior by C. V. Rowland, with 20 points. Prizes were presented after the running of the events by Mrs A. E. Caddick. PAPANUI TECHNICAL COLLEGE SPORTS A bleak day with a keen south-west wind did not dampen the em msiasm of the large crowd of competitors and spectators who attended the annual sports of the Papanui Technical College. Entries in all sections were good and many exciting finishes were seen. At the conclusion of the meeting Flight Lieutenant E. A. Osmers presented the trophies won during the day. The senior championship was won by R. A. Grimshaw, 25 points, with T. Raymond. 16 points, runner-up. M. R. Burney, wit.i 43 points, captured the intermediate title by a big margin from H. Davis, 16 points, while the junior champion is A. J. Munro, with 30 points. In the girls section C. Crotty and D. Seeker, each with 18 points, shared the senior championship, and in the junior section L. Paterson, with 15 points, was champion, with H. Crotty, ru points, runner-up.
