Hullo, Jill! : I was so excited and exhilarated over your letters of enthusiasm for those lovely, lovely coats and hats, that I hied me off at once to MISS SPARKES, of Armagh Street I And was I glad I did so!! she certainly deserves lots of praise—for I discovered the loveliest' things . • . they quite took my breath away, they were so devastating! These two frocks are destined to succeed . • • X recommend them without*. a. qualm, for your want-to-look-your-bestgad-about-hour’s. / ;■ r . • I How do you like my attempts at sketching my favourites? !• was all agog over these, and I , know you’ll just rave over them! The one at top left is a sort of jersey crepe in a luscious "tea-rose" shade—-tiny pintucks form the bodice with snappy and unusual turquoise and gilt clips at either side of neck —-a perfect frock! The other sketch is of soft crepe in a sweet blue shade, "mountain haze," with unusual Roulloux patterns at the shoulders and on the. pockets it’s a p e t and so reasonable, tool Do write and sketch me more and more---as I don’t want to miss a thing from why, MISS SPARKES, of course!! For Miss Sparkes is our pal—for never do, we cross her portals without coming across something that makes life a lot nicer! So I remain yours in hopeful —ever such'hopeful anticipation, L L & lh
Weight’s No Handicap to Mother 2 She is no longer young . . or slim : she is the mother of four husky boys . yet strangers to town, attracted by her youthfulness, her poise, invariably ask “who is she?" • Which proves again that neither weight nor age matter when a Berlei gives the figure a beautiful line and youthful bearing. • No foundation is better equipped to do both than a Berlei. For, being designed to the five figure types and their thirteen variations, your Berlei is anatomically correct - if supports exactly where you require it, relaxes where your figure.can afford to take it easy. • You’ll find your weight no handicap either, when you've been fitted with your true-to-type Berlei! 1 FOR THE MATURE FIGURE
