TWO MEN KILLED IN AIR CRASH
ANOTHER SERIOUSLY INJURED ACCIDENT NEAR NELSON (P.A.) NELSON, April 9. Two men were killed and one seriously injured to-day when an aeroplane crashed on coming in to land at the Tahunanui aerodrome. The VlC ' tims were;— KILLED Flight Lieutenant L. M. Squire. His wife is Mrs D. C. Squire, Stevenson street, Blenheim. Aircraftsman Lindo J. Thomson. His mother is Mrs C. F. Thomson, Macmaster street, Invercargill. INJURED Corporal Ernest Ivan Johnson. His father is Mr E. Johnson, Greatford, Rangitikei. An official account of the accident issued in Wellington says that at 11 a.m.. while on the return journey from Omaka, the aircraft stalled on a diving turn and crashed. The aeroplane landed on rough ground on the Nelson golf links, which adjoin the aerodrome. It burst into flames. Flight Lieutenant Squire and Aircraftsman Thomson were killed instantly. Corporal Johnson was admitted to the Nelson. Hospital.
