The weather forecast for Canterbury, issued at 5 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 24 hours following the time ©f issue, is as follows; South-westerly winds, strong and squally at times. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— South-westerly winds, strong at times. Weather cold and changeable, with further periods of showers. Seas rough. DOMINION The following is the forecast for the Dominion:— Weather cold and changeable, with periods of passing showers in most districts, but more especially In and west of the ranges. Further hall and thunder in places, and some snow in the far south and on the higher levels of both islands. An intense anti-cyclone centred .over Tasmania extends to the east and north beyond New Zealand. south-westerlies continuing, and reaching gale force in some .exposed positions in the South Island. , Seas (New Zealand waters)— Rough.
