IMPRESSMENT OP MOTOR VEHICLES

70 THB EDITO* 07 TES PSESB. Sir,—While the above subject is in the majority of people’s minds at present, I am wondering why the Army authorities do not look farther afield for trucks. I know of an enemy alien who owns a late model truck of popular make. This truck is used only once or twice a month, yet the owner is allowed to keep it, while many New Zealanders who own trucks and whose very existence : depends on them, have to do without them. Does this policy seem in order? • ■■ To my-way of thinking, any aliens owning motor vehicles, should be the first to have them impressed.—Yours, etc./'' ' LION. Arthur’s 1 Pass, March 13, 1941.
