Recovered Yogi, whose lameness had his connexion’s seriously ptizzled three or four months ago, has done well since being turned out toward the end of last year. He has made a complete recovery earlier than was expected, and is now ready to come in from Karamu to join Kathbella, Burra Sahib, and others of Mr F. Onnond’s team at present in work at Hastings. Moved to Ellerslie A. J. Julian, private trainer to the late Mr R. T. Reid, at Te Rapa for seven years, has moved to Ellerslie, where he intends to carry on with his profession. As a jockey Julian was very successful, and during the time he has been at Te Rapa, from 1933, his charges have won in stakes £19,745. In 1937-38 his total was £3690 and in the following season £3030. TROTTING NOTES Reminder Entries (present yearlings) for the New Zealand Sapling Stakes (1942), New Zealand Champion Stakes (1942), and the New Zealand Futurity Stakes (1943) close at the Ashburton Trotting Club’s office on Thursday at 5 p.m. Passport After a fairly long absence from the tracks Passport has put in a reappearance and he is doing well in his work to this stage. His form over a period has not been greatly impressive, but on occasions he has given some useful efforts. Raffled for patriotic purposes, Passport recently changed ownership and trainers. Brightened Up After the recent Wellington meeting, where she failed to race up to expectations Statuette was given a short spell, but she is again back in regular work at Addingtoij. She appears to have brightened up considerably during her absence from the tracks .and it should not take a great deal of work to have this good filly back to her best form, Unsound Pacer At the moment R. B. Berry is spelling Great Jewel and it is not expected that this good pacer will be recommissioned until late in the present season. For some time now Great Jewel has been troubled with unsoundness and during his absence from the tracks his legs will receive a course of treatment. There are few more brilliant performers than this Jewel Pointer gelding and at his best he is capable of holding his own successfully in any company. It is to be hoped that a fairly long spell at this stage of ,his career will find him returning to work thoroughly sound.
