Results were;— A Championship—First round; Mrs Blakemore (Hornby) beat Mrs Scott (Rangiora). 26-15: Mrs Whittington lElmwood) beat Mrs Hargraves (Rangiora). 26-17. Handicap Doubles—Second round: Mrs Dunn and Mrs McNish beat Mrs Lattaway and Marshall. 26-20; Mesdames Ball and Turner beat Mrs McNish and F. Dunn. 26-20; Mesdames Ward and Balnbridge beat Mrs Travis and J. Brown, 26-22. Championship Doubles—Third round; Mesdames McKay and Calvelt beat Mesdames Hargraves and Scott. 26-10, Handicap Singles—Mrs Blakemore (6}) beat Mrs Norman 111, 26-19; R. Campbell (91 beat Mrs O’Rourke (12), 26-16: Mrs Wright (9) beat F. Wedd (9J), 26-13; Mrs Pearce (6J) beat Mrs Travis (8), 26-22; Mrs Andrews (6J) beat Mrs Martyn (6J). 26-22; Mrs Ward (7) heat Mrs McKay (6), 26-24; Mrs Richards (7) beat Mrs Campbell (9J). 26-23: Mrs Haigh (6) beat Mrs Sommerville (7), 26-19. WEST COAST TOURNAMENT
The West Coast croquet tournament was advanced a further stage yesterday in ideal weather. The results were as follows; , , Handicap Singles (over six bisques)— Mrs Hill (Runanga) (7) beat Mrs Shannon (101 >. 26-14. Semi-final: Mrs Sligo (Makura) beat Mrs Pring, 26-11. Handicap Doubles—First, round; Mesdames Howard (6) and Braithwaite (7) (Runanga) beat Mesdames Mercer (4) and Lawn (9) (Makura), 26-15. Second round; Mesdames Ibbotson (Hamilton) (24) and Sligo (Makura) (11) beat Mesdames Erickson (7) and Wilson (6) (Runanga), 26-18; Mesdames Howard (6) and Braithwaite (7 (Runanga) beat Mesdames McKay (4) (Makura) and Kernahan (3J), 26-24. Championship Singles—Final; Lieuten-ant-Colonel Beamish (Christchurch) beat Mrs Whiblev (Makura).' 26-18 in the first game. In the second game Colonel Beamish beat Mrs Whibley. 26-12.
