Mesdames Webber, Whitfield, and Wilson at 10.15 a.m. Meeting of Council 'The following officers were re-elected at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Croquet-Council;—President, Mr R. W. McCreath (Gore); vice-presidents, Mrs A. H. Keesing (Auckland), and Mrs J. McDonald (Dunedin); hon. secretary and treasurer, Mrs W. S. Austin (Wellington); hon. assistant-secretary, Mrs W. E. Caldow (Wellington); handicappcr, Mrs C. Watkins (Hastings); referee, Mr A. G. F. Ross (Christchurch): "Gazette” editormanager, Mrs E. McKenzie.

A suggestion from the Otago Croquet Association that a letter be sent to the English Croquet Association expressing sympathy with the English players in the sacrifice and hardship which they had to face in defence of the Empire and expressing the full support and co-operation in their effort of New Zealand players, was adopted.

The council decided that all proceeds of future council tournaments be handed over to patriotic purposes, particularly to assist New Zealand naval men.

RANGIORA BEATS EDGEWARE

Rangiora beat Edgeware by seven games to one In an intermediate flag croquet match, at Rangiora. Results (Rangiora names first);— Mrs Rowe and Miss Bruere 26, Mesdames Crawford and Colville 7; Mesdames Benjes and Dench 26, Mesdames Lorrlmer and Parish 23; Mesdames Loffhagen and Payne 26. Mesdames McKay and Calvert 12; Mrs Rowe 26, Mrs Crawford 16; Miss Bruere 26. Mrs Cloville 6; Mrs Benjes 23, Mrs Lorrlmer 26; Mrs Dench 26. Mrs Parish 19: Mrs Loffhagen 26, Mrs McKay 9; Mrs Payne 20, Mrs Calvert 12 (unfinished).
