THE PRICE OF WHEAT

TO TUB KDITOB OT THE PRESS, Sir, —I should like to ask the Hon. D. G. Sullivan when he is going to fix the price of wheat for the 1942 crop. If we engage a worker he wants to know how much we are prepared to pay him. and quite right. The farmer is in just the same position. Very little wheat will be grown next year and it we do not know' the price before our men go into camp at the beginning of the year, there will be less. We are like the worker; we cannot start until we know because the present prices are no good. —Yours, etc.,

.FARMER. December. 13, 1940. ißy direction of the Minister for Industries and Commerce, the Controller of Wheat and Flour, Mr R. McPherson, states that an announcement on the subject of wheat prices can be expected shortly.]
